Guardiola compared Foden's display to the one against Inter Milan, calling him one of the best players in that position. Foden, who had been absent for some time, showed great intelligence and energy on the pitch. Guardiola expressed his delight at seeing Foden gradually find his form again. He also mentioned the importance of players getting consistent game time, preferably playing 60 to 90 minutes every three days.

As for Erling Haaland, who was repeatedly fouled by Newcastle defenders in the game and had torn socks, Guardiola said the team would assess his physical condition before their Champions League away match against Bratislava in Slovakia. He acknowledged that Haaland had taken some knocks and would be evaluated in the coming days.
